| The
EQUIPMENT is an important part of your SUCCESS. |
| | | The thing you must absolutely concentrate on is the Internet
Connection. In most cases this aspect is undervalued; instead, a
stable connection that guarantees a minimum of 160Kb per second is
a primary condition to be able to work in the best possible way. |
| In order to consult quotations in real time,
Day traders need a Stream that is equipped at least with the 2
Level System and with more videos where one can see simultaneously
Stream windows, news, graphics, films, vocal interfaces, e-mails and other. |

The speed and reliability of the system
is the primary condition to operate with SUCCESS. |
| | The major part of traders has relatively recent equipment
(some still use a 56K phone connection) and is not familiar with the Windows
multi monitor configuration. Whether you are traders or not, by using
Windows 98/2000/XP etc. with the minimum configuration of 2 monitors, anyone can
highly boost his/her productivity. | | |
| Just have a look at the Windows Help file, clicking on Start/help/
and inserting "multiple monitor" in the research box. Soon you’ll
find some information enlightening you on the multimonitor subject. |
| | | You require an additional card for each monitor that you want
to add. The best setup is to utilize one or more AGP Matrox graphic cards, if
you have slots AGP in your masterboard. | | |
| The best solution, in terms of money and performance, is an
AGP Matrox G400 with two outputs, costing approximatively € 200. With that
you can operate 2 monitors simultaneously. | | |

| If you do not have slots
AGP in your masterboard, for each additional monitor you require cards each of
them different from the other... Not all cards are compatible, so you must compare
their structural characteristics and test them, while their work at the same time. |
| If you do not mind about money, a Matrox G200 costing roughly
€ 600, with 2x2 outputs to operate from 4 monitors to 16; this way any
possible problem is solved before it can even arise. |

You’ll soon realize that the space
is never enough, believe me.
| | | Well, now you’ll have to decide if and how to update
your computer. Do not forget that it is going to be your “fellow worker”
and one of your main tools. | | Do not undervalue this aspect, because a fast and reliable
machine may contribute greatly to improve your yield. | | |

| Personally I have adopted this
configuration: two PCs on line, both with Pentium 1000 and 256 Mega of ram, a
19” monitor for the former and four 17” monitors set at 1280x1024
for the latter, plus an Internet connection DSL/ISDN/ cablo modem. |
